Since 2010, Optimation and our delivery partner HCL Technologies have undertaken the development and ongoing support within one of New Zealand’s largest IT applications outsource contracts (~8000 users), for the Department of Corrections.
Alastair Turrell, the Department's Chief Digital Officer states
“The Department is very pleased to be extending its long-running relationship with Optimation, and their key partner HCL. That relationship continues to provide high quality, good value and highly flexible technology support services to us, across a number of our key digital platforms.”
We believe smart technology can play a key role in supporting the Department of Corrections to achieve the Governments’ goal of reducing the prison population by 30%.
Following on from the major transformation of IOMS (the core Integrated Offender Management System) in 2017, as well as our support of the ‘High Impact Innovation Program’ with smartphone applications, the newly signed agreement extends and strengthens our relationship, and secures Optimation as the key partner for applications services in the Offender Management space.
Our chief executive officer, Alex Bouma shared his thoughts
“I'm really proud of our team, who have been working in collaboration with the 'High Impact Innovation Programme' to deliver Digital technology solutions to make a real difference. Our Department of Corrections (and the wider justice sector) have a really tough mission, but are doing a fantastic job embracing practical innovation to positively drive outcomes. Keep up the good work guys!”
We would like to thank the Department for their continued confidence in us, and look forward to continuing to service the day to day application needs, as well as support the Department and its other key suppliers in driving innovation that makes a difference for New Zealand society.
