Optimation has appointed Steve Johnson to the new role of General Manager Outsourcing. This reflects the key role of Outsourcing in Optimation’s long-term business strategy, building on the success of a cornerstone engagement with the Department of Corrections.

“The objectives of the General Manager Outsourcing role are to grow our Outsourcing business, lead and develop the practice, and champion our strategic partnership relationships in this area, such as our relationship with HCL,” says Optimation Executive Chairman Neil Butler.

“Coupled with Steve’s appointment we have brought our existing Support service line into our Outsourcing practice. This reflects our desire to actively take our application maintenance and support offering to the market and to scale from support of individual business applications to full outsourcing of Application Development Maintenance and Support, as we do for the Department of Corrections.”

Steve brings strong governance experience and he has also led successful outsourcing bids. He has been directly accountable for the delivery of large scale transformational business and technology programme outcomes and the management of programme portfolios (the largest totalling over $100M). Most recently, Steve was Head of Undertakings Implementation Programme, Telecom NZ, and he has held a range of senior roles to a GM level in the ICT industry.
