Celebrating 20 Years 2010: Mark Zuckerberg Is Time’s Person Of The Year And Optimation Signs A Major Outsourcing Contract

By 2010, social media had really gone mainstream. Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg was named Time Magazine’s Person of the Year and even Hollywood got in on the act with the film The Social Network. It was also the year Apple’s iPad hit the market and businesses were quick to come up with some innovative ways to use the new format.

Here at Optimation, 2010 was huge. Amongst other successes, we signed a major outsourcing contract with the Department of Corrections to deliver application development, maintenance and support across a range of core systems and platforms. Optimation is the lead services provider in a consortium that also includes local consultants Resultex and our global strategic partner, HCL. The outcomes-focused outsource model we’ve developed blends New Zealand-based and offshore resources to deliver speed-to-scale and high levels of responsiveness, while giving customers like Corrections the assurance of effective local decision-making and robust governance.
